A Hard Day's Work

Today we went to Conner Prairie. What a wonderful day. I didn't realize this beautiful gem was nestled so beautifully in Indianapolis. We are here because I am judging at the DI State competition tomorrow morning. A group of our boys get to compete tomorrow too. We took a field trip to Conner Prairie on the way to the competition.

It was a BEAUTIFUL day! We couldn't have asked for better weather. And, Ben learned how to do all kinds of tasks around the house! I caught it on film, so I know he can do it!

If you haven't been to Conner Prairie, and you are close enough to go, do it! I cannot wait to go back. I wish I could be a worker there! All the employees dress in period clothing and play the role of someone in the community. What fun that would be! They actually do the tasks of daily life. Some were working in the garden. One woman had just finished making lunch, it smelled SO wonderful! Potter was being made and animals were being taken care of. We even got to see some new lambs that were born last night! It was fantastic!

I love Conner Praire! It was our 4th or 5th grade field trip. I was thinking about taking my kids this year when we visit my mom.

Glenda...it was 4th grade most likely as that is the grade that Indiana history is taught. Mr. Eisenbraun took us.
I loved going there! We are going again this summer to take the girls. We bought passes at our school's auction. When will you be in Columbus?
Kristi... can we all connect?

Hey, that would be fun! Glenda had mentioned June when they were coming through. It is so funny, Brian, Rich, and I were talking about how you and Rick would be great working there! I bet your girls would be too! I would love to go when things are blooming and more farming was being done. The baby lambs were so beautiful!

Maria and Glenda were you in the same class?

You're probably right Maria, I thought 4th grade, then thought, no I think it was Mr. Pinnow who took us. I had Miss Bean for 4th grade. And no Kristi we weren't in the same class, but her sister and brother were in my grade though.

If we go, we'll go in June when we're "back home again in Indiana...."
